Andres Pollak

Andres Pollak is a distinguished figure in both the music and corporate worlds. Born in Santiago, Chile, he studied piano and film scoring at Berklee College of Music in Boston, graduating with the class of 1985.

Pollak founded the influential bands Cometa and La Marraqueta, which played pivotal roles in transforming the jazz genre in Latin America and inspiring countless musicians. Through his studios, SONUS and Bandurria, he has produced and recorded music for numerous artists. His work includes composing and producing soundtracks for notable films such as “Johnny 100 Pesos” 1 and 2, “Heroes Series,” “El Vacío,” and “El Horizonte del Pulso,” among many others.

As an engineer and owner of EastSide Sound Studios, Pollak emphasizes both old-school analog recording and cutting-edge digital A/I technology. His expertise extends to MIDI interfacing and synth programming, and he has scored and mixed productions with hundreds of tracks for film music, foley, and sound design.
